As a result of his belief in the urgency of the family structure, his highness, the Prince of al-Sharja issued a decree that founded Al-Majlis al-A'la Lishou'n al-Ussra (Supreme Council for Family Affairs). انطلاقاً من إيمانه بأهمية الأسرة ، أصدر سموه ، حاكم الشارقة ،مرسوماً أميرياً يقضي بإنشاء المجلس الأعلى لشؤون الأسرة . ورسالة المجلس هي الارتقاء بالأسرة في إمارة الشارقة ،و ذلك من خلال الدراسة، و التنسيق مع مؤسسات المجتمع الأخرى و المشاركة في صنع القرار و التشريعات و نشر الوعي، و تعزيز استقرار الأسرة و دورها في المجتمع . يضم المجلس عدة أقسام ، بما فيها مركز أبحاث ، قسم تقنية المعلومات ، مركز الإعلام ، و رابطة أديبات الإمارات. مهام المجلس هي :
