Family and Life
Located in Dublin, Ireland, the charitable work of Family and Life is focused on protecting human life and helping women, children, unborn babies and families in vulnerable situations. This organization’s work focuses on alleviating poverty in its complete definition. Some of its many projects focus on material impoverishment while others focus on intellectual impoverishment.

In addition to maintaining public information campaigns and resources such as a comprehensive news section and the production of documentaries, Family and Life also operates a research department due to the constant need to keep abreast with the latest events in the area of bioethics and reproductive technology. The group monitors developments in the United Nations and the European Union, and responds with detailed submissions when the Irish government seeks advice on family and life issues. In addition, Family and Life sponsors various conferences throughout the year. Additional resources are available through this website including educational materials for schools, an online magazine, an electronic “bookstore”, related links as well as a link dealing with pregnancy support.

Iona Institute
The Iona Institute is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to the strengthening of civil society. It aims to contribute to this purpose in two primary ways. The first is through making the case for marriage, and the second is through making the case for religion.

The core belief of the Iona Institute is that Ireland cannot have a strong, vigorous civil society unless it recognises the importance of marriage and supports it socially, financially and legally, and furthermore unless it recognises the importance of religious practice.

However, it is also the belief of the Iona Institute that society will not recognise the importance of marriage and religion unless a convincing, evidence-based case, is made. The Iona Institute is dedicated to making this case thereby adding an important voice to Irish public debate.

The Iona Institute aims to do so through the commissioning of relevant position papers by experts in their fields including social scientists, lawyers and psychiatrists, through the formulation of workable policies, especially in the area of marriage and the family, through sponsoring research and opinion polling, and through organising seminars on relevant topics. Many of these bibliographic resources are available at this group's site.
